Text Counter Guide

When is this useful?

Use the text counter when you need to meet a character limit for essays, applications, blog posts, SEO metadata, product descriptions or social profiles. Checking both with-space and no-space counts makes platform limits easier to handle.

SEO copy checks

Review meta titles, meta descriptions and summaries before publishing to keep copy within practical length ranges.

Submission length

Check essays, applications and assignments against required character or word limits before sending them.

Short-form copy

Tune ads, social bios and product descriptions where concise wording matters.

What is the difference between with-space and no-space character counts?

The with-space count includes spaces, tabs and line breaks. The no-space count removes whitespace characters before counting.

When should I care about bytes?

Some messaging systems, forms and databases limit text by byte size instead of visible character count. Korean, Japanese, Chinese and emoji can use more bytes than basic Latin letters.

How are words counted?

The tool treats groups of letters and numbers as words. It is designed for practical counting and may differ from advanced linguistic tokenizers.

Is my text sent to the server?

No. This tool calculates counts in your browser and does not store your text on the server.
