Billiards layout and shot-plan notes

Position white, yellow and red balls, annotate paths and add shot-plan notes. Adjust non-overlapping coordinates, export SVG or PNG, and save layouts in this browser.

Layout name

0 / 20

A diagram in normalized 1000×500 coordinates. X increases rightwards and Y downwards. These are not physical table dimensions in millimetres.

In move mode, drag balls or enter coordinates. In path mode, each table click or tap adds a path point.

01

Input settings

Record three ball positions and a manually drawn path. Scoring routes, contact thickness, cue point and collision outcomes are not calculated.

03

Saved records

0 / 50

Store up to 50 records per tool in this browser. They do not sync to other devices; keep a JSON backup before clearing browser data.

Import this tool’s backups only, up to 8 MiB. All records are validated before merging with new identifiers; the merged list must contain at most 50 records.

How to use

  1. Name the layout and position white, yellow and red balls in move mode.
  2. Drag balls or enter X/Y coordinates. Keep them inside the table without overlaps.
  3. Switch to path mode and click or tap the table to annotate a line. Undo the last point to correct it.
  4. Add notes on your intended cue point, contact thickness or target position.
  5. Download SVG or PNG, or save in this browser. Use a full JSON backup to move saved layouts.

Worked example

Place white at (200,250), yellow at (700,150) and red at (700,350) for a non-overlapping layout. Add the path manually, note the intended cue point and thickness, then compare it with actual practice.

Methods and limits

The table uses normalized 1000×500 coordinates, not physical millimetres. Diagram ball radius is 12: centres need X 12–988, Y 12–488 and separation of at least 24 units. Paths have at most 20 manually placed points and notes up to 500 characters. This represents positions, segments and notes; it does not calculate collisions, spin, thickness, scoring likelihood or real trajectories. Save up to 50 layouts in this browser and move them with JSON backups up to 8 MiB. SVG and PNG export the current diagram, not an official diamond system or surveyed table map.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move the balls?

In move mode, drag a ball or enter its coordinates. X increases rightwards and Y downwards. Keep each ball inside the radius-adjusted bounds and clear of the others.

Is the annotated route calculated automatically?

No. Path mode joins positions you click or tap. Moving balls does not find a new successful route automatically; the line is a planning annotation.

Are 1000×500 coordinates real table dimensions?

No. They are normalized diagram coordinates with a 2:1 ratio, not measured millimetres or centimetres. Radius 12 is also a diagram-editing size.

How do SVG and PNG differ?

SVG is a vector diagram suited to scaling; PNG is a conventional image. Keep a browser save or JSON backup too if you want to reload editable records.

Can I move saved layouts to another device?

Download this layout tool’s full JSON backup and import it in another browser. There is no automatic sync. Each tool stores up to 50 records and uses its own backup type.
