Number base converter
Convert integers from binary, octal, decimal, hexadecimal or base 36. View binary, octal, decimal and hexadecimal results without rounding large integers.
Result
This tool does not send entered values or selected files to a server. Save any results you need before closing the tab.
How to use
- Select the base of your input.
- Enter an integer. A sign and a matching 0b, 0o or 0x prefix are accepted.
- Generate the results and copy the representations you need.
Worked example
Hexadecimal FF is decimal 255, binary 11111111 and octal 377. A negative input such as -FF keeps its minus sign.
Method and limitations
Digits are accumulated with integer arithmetic and converted using BigInt. Values beyond the ordinary floating-point integer limit are supported, up to 1,024 input digits.
Fractions, whitespace separators and commas are not supported. Negative numbers use a sign, not a fixed-width two’s-complement representation. Invalid digits for the chosen base are rejected.
Frequently asked questions
Are E and F valid hexadecimal digits?
Yes. Hexadecimal uses 0–9 and A–F without case sensitivity. Binary uses only 0 and 1; base 36 uses 0–9 and A–Z.
