JSON flattener and rebuilder
Flatten nested JSON objects into JSON Pointer paths and values, then rebuild them. Preserve slash and tilde keys, empty objects, and arrays as single values.

Table preview
Only the first 10 rows and 12 columns are shown. Copy and download include the full result. This table shows original cells before formula protection; inspect the output text for any changes.
Keeping arrays and empty objects intact makes maps created here reversible. Rebuilt key order may differ. To rebuild, enter the path-value object and choose rebuild mode.
How to use
- Review the example, then paste input or import a UTF-8 text file.
- Choose conversion options as explained below and press Run.
- Review the full output and preview before copying or downloading.
Worked example
{"order":{"id":7},"items":[1,2]} becomes {"/order/id":7,"/items":[1,2]}. A key a/b is encoded as /a~1b, and ~ as /~0.
Method and limits
Only objects are split into paths. Arrays, empty objects and scalars remain leaves. Numeric path segments rebuild as object keys, so /0 and /1 do not create an array. The empty key "" represents the root. Parent/child conflicts are rejected. Limits: depth 64 and 10,000 paths. Use strings for unsafe integers; decimals use JavaScript double precision.
Frequently asked questions
Can keys contain dots or names such as __proto__?
Yes. Dots are not separators. Paths use JSON Pointer escaping for / and ~. Names such as __proto__ and constructor are treated as data, not prototypes.
Is the input file uploaded to a server?
This tool processes input text and file contents in browser memory without sending them to a server. Refreshing discards the work. This is separate from ordinary site visit statistics.
