What is an Image Format Converter?

An image format converter is a free browser tool that changes JPG, PNG, and WEBP files into another image format while allowing you to resize the image and adjust output quality.

How to Use

  1. Select a JPG, PNG, or WEBP image.
  2. Choose the output format and quality.
  3. Adjust width, height, and the background color for transparent areas if needed.
  4. Review the result and file size change, then download the converted file.
JPG

Best for colorful photographs and small file sizes, but it does not support transparent backgrounds.

PNG

A lossless format suited to logos, icons, screenshots, and images that need transparency.

WEBP

Offers efficient file sizes with good visual quality and supports transparency, making it useful for websites.

Is my uploaded image stored on the server?

No. Reading, converting, previewing, and generating the download file all happen inside your current browser.

What quality should I use for JPG or WEBP?

A value between 75% and 90% works well for many web images. Use higher quality for text-heavy screenshots or detailed product images, and try lower values for small thumbnails.

What happens to transparency when converting PNG to JPG?

JPG does not support transparency. Transparent areas are filled with the background color selected in the conversion settings.
