WIN-J TOOLS
QR code image reader
Read a QR code from a photo or screenshot and inspect its URL or text. Choose a file, drag and drop, or paste an image.
You can also paste a copied screenshot with Ctrl+V or ⌘V.
Review the address before opening. Links never open automatically; only HTTP(S) addresses get an open button.
Files and content entered into this tool are processed in your browser and are not sent to the server.
How to use
- Choose or paste one JPG, PNG or WEBP image containing a QR code.
- Review the decoded contents. If decoding fails, crop closer to the code and try again.
- Copy the result or verify the address before using Open reviewed link.
Example
Choose an event screenshot saved on your phone to inspect its QR address without photographing the screen with another device.
How it works & limits
The browser reads the image locally and decodes the QR in a separate worker. Both light and dark codes are tried; the first detected QR is displayed as text.
Limits: 15 MB and 40 megapixels per image. Images are scaled to a longest side of 1800 px for decoding, so crop around tiny codes. Damage, glare or blur can prevent reading. Live camera scanning and ordinary barcodes are not supported.
Frequently asked questions
Can it read Wi-Fi QR codes?
It shows the encoded text without connecting automatically. Results may contain a password, so review them before sharing.
Will it immediately visit an encoded URL?
No. Only reviewed HTTP(S) links open after you explicitly select the open button.
