WIN-J TEXT & DEVELOPMENT
Bulk prefix and suffix editor
Add the same prefix and suffix to multiple lines at once. Skip whitespace-only lines while preserving the original line endings, then copy or save the edited text.
Result
The output is plain text. Apply the escaping required by HTML, SQL or your command shell separately.
How to use
- Enter the lines to edit, followed by a literal prefix and suffix.
- Choose whether to skip whitespace-only lines. Do not put line breaks in the affixes.
- Review the inserted text and line endings, then copy or save.
Example
A prefix of [ and suffix of ] change alpha and beta into [alpha] and [beta]. Dollar signs and backslashes are literal text, not replacement expressions.
Method and limits
Prefixes and suffixes are literal text, not regular expressions or templates. LF, CRLF, CR and the final line break are preserved. Skipped whitespace-only lines keep their original whitespace. Each affix is limited to 2,000 UTF-8 bytes and cannot contain line breaks. Browser text areas may normalize pasted line endings to LF; processing preserves the endings available in the input control.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add brackets or dollar signs?
Yes. Brackets, dollar signs and backslashes are appended literally, without a replacement syntax.
Will trailing spaces be trimmed?
No. Source content and line endings are preserved. Skipped whitespace-only lines receive no affixes.
