Electric blanket and heater electricity cost calculator
Estimate added energy use from appliance wattage and operating time. Compare South Korean residential bills before and after use, or enter a flat unit price for your own electricity plan.
Results
Bill components before and after
This is an estimate and may differ from the bill. Adding independently priced appliance costs can miss changes in tariff bands and basic charges, so compare the entire bill before and after use.
How to use
- Choose South Korean residential tariffs or a flat unit price. For Korea, select the supply voltage and tariff month.
- Enter baseline monthly energy excluding the new appliances, then enter their number of days of use.
- Enter each appliance’s running wattage, quantity, hours per day and duty cycle.
- Review added energy and the change in the entire bill, then save the CSV with its settings.
Example
A 100 W electric blanket used for 8 hours per day continuously uses 24 kWh in 30 days. A 2,000 W heater operating half of a 2-hour daily period uses 60 kWh. Added energy is 84 kWh; with 250 kWh baseline monthly use, combined use is 334 kWh.
Method and limitations
Appliance kWh = running W × quantity × daily hours × days × duty cycle÷100 ÷1,000. In Korea mode, calculate the standard residential bill for baseline energy and for baseline plus appliance energy, using the selected month and voltage; display their difference. A fixed verified tariff snapshot is used. Billing-date boundaries, discounts and special contracts are not inferred. Flat-price mode calculates energy×entered rate without adding other charges. Supports up to 20 rows, 100 units per row, 24 hours per day and 31 days of appliance use. Actual power and thermostat duty cycles affect results. Enter observed or forecast energy for the entire month. In Korea mode, retain fractional appliance energy but round combined monthly use before and after to the nearest whole kWh for billing. The low-voltage electricity subtotal has a 1,000 KRW minimum before VAT and the industry fund. High-voltage cases rounding to 0 kWh are excluded because contract adjustments differ.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the wattage on an electric blanket label?
Inputs represent electrical power while operating. Rated wattage can be used for an estimate, but temperature control and modes affect actual use. For measured average wattage, use a 100% duty cycle.
Why not multiply the new energy by one fixed price?
Korean residential energy bands and basic charges can change with total use. Comparing the entire bill before and after adding appliances shows the increase relative to your baseline.
Does flat-price mode add Korean taxes?
It only multiplies energy by your entered price. Decide whether to enter a tax-inclusive rate and compare it with your own contract.
