Paint quantity calculator
Subtract doors and windows from each wall and estimate paint liters. Set coats, product coverage, extra and can size to calculate whole cans and optional material cost.
Results
Required liters = net wall area × coats ÷ coverage × (1 + extra). Combine the same paint before rounding once to whole cans. Surface absorption, color changes, tools and product choice affect real usage.
How to use
- Enter each wall width and height; add more walls as needed.
- Subtract its door/window area in m².
- Set product coverage, coats, extra percentage and can size.
- Review liters, whole cans and optional cost, then copy or export the breakdown.
Example
A 4×2.5m wall minus 2m² and a 3×2.5m wall minus 1m² give 14.5m² net. Two coats, 10m²/L and 10% extra need 3.19L, or one 4L can.
Method and limitations
Use coverage for one coat, not a label that already includes two coats. Supports 1–10 coats, 0–100% extra and up to 50 walls. Exclusions cannot exceed their wall. Floors or ceilings may be added as rectangles only when the same product and coverage apply. Blank price does not mean zero cost.
Frequently asked questions
My product says 10m²/L. What do I enter?
Confirm that it is for one coat, then enter 10. Choose two coats if painting twice.
Are cans rounded for each wall?
No. Assuming the same paint, liters are totaled first and the can count is rounded once.
Is primer included?
No. Calculate primer separately using its own product coverage.
